Last year, Avination and Singularity developed a new "export" permission for OpenSim with support both on the server side, and in modern viewers. Meanwhile, Kitely rolled out their own, parallel, export permission system based on a combination of Kitely Market settings and existing perms. Now, both systems are in play, with InWorldz and other grids testing out the Avination/Singularity system, and Kitely using their own system to enable market deliveries to other grids as well as OAR region downloads. Panelists will discuss how to implement export permissions, how well they work, and what's still to be done. They will also debate the merits of the two current approaches, and whether content creators should be using DRM at all.
